Flores Statement on President Trump's Executive Actions on Pipelines

U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding President Trump's executive actions to advance construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines:

"Providing for our country's energy needs is an integral part of our economic and national security. I applaud President Trump's leadership to restart these crucial infrastructure products to enhance our energy security. It is refreshing to see that the president is committed to halting the previous administration's hasty denial of these national security projects, which was nothing more than a giveaway to radical special interest groups. Furthermore, it was disappointing that the last administration elected to impede these important projects which create good paying American jobs; and which are the most modern, safest and most environmentally friendly modes of transporting liquid and gaseous products. President Trump's actions will help pave the way for a 21st century energy strategy that harnesses America's abundant energy resources, lowers energy costs, improves economic opportunity, creates American jobs and reduces geopolitical instability around the world."
